I live in the USA, my family lives in Europe. When the Biden administration announced lifting the travel ban, my brother booked an airline ticket from Belgium to USA, for November 1. Safe to say he will need to cancel now. To be honest, I find it unethical that the airlines allow people to book tickets to the USA, when entry in the USA is not allowed. It would be OK if they didn't charge a rescheduling fee, but they are charging a 180 euro fee if you have to change dates. So it is a bit unethical for all the airlines to capture all the revenue and customers, as soon as the Biden administration just alluded to opening borders, locking in customers, to then charge a big fee when the ban lift doesn't happen.
