More excellent advice on UK Pre-departure Covid testing from the US

You need to bill a test at a pharmacy or Google local lateral flow tests for travel.  You have to have a certificate from them to say you are fit to travel- it's a joke but it is just a way of showing gov you definitely did the test

From what ive seen and what test providers have confirmed so far, it doesn't have to be supervised. However, you will need  to use a provider where you can upload the result for it to be verified so that they can issue you with your fit to fly certificate.
