‼️REFERENCE: ‼️ Travelling to the US? Here is a quick checklist.

If you're travelling to the US, here is a quick checklist [updated 3rd April]:

➡️ ESTA have you completed it? Make sure you do prior to getting to the airport, at least 48 hours before you travel, preferably earlier. There is no need to print it, just bear in mind you won’t be able to board a plane without it.

➡️ Proof you are COVID vaccinated. Airport officials may wish to see it. The very least you will need to confirm it on your US Attestation form.

➡️ Proof of recovery from COVID if you’ve recently had COVID. Try your Doctor first, otherwise there are options online.

➡️ If you have taken holiday insurance ensure that you have printed off the policy details and important telephone numbers. Pack them safe in your luggage.

➡️ Negative Covid test taken within 1 day of travelling, I personally use Qured for my tests.

Remember the test has to be supervised so a video test with Qured is ideal. I’ve used Qured for all my tests, I’ve never had an issue, always reliable.

➡️ Remember, do not pay excessive money for a PCR test. Use the cheaper option, go for a Antigen COVID test, and you can do at home, but it must be real time supervised. Airlines must be able to review and confirm your identity and the negative result at the airport.   Therefore you will need written confirmation which needs to include the type of test taken. Entity issuing the result , such as healthcare, telephone video appointment; identify of the person name and either passport number or date of birth. And of course the test result.

For good practice I normally print the letter from your healthcare provider, stating your negative COVID test and bring to the airport, you can then show airline staff. Also have a copy of the letter handy should US officials ask for it.

➡️Complete the latest US Attestation form. Link: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/NCEZID_FRM_ENG_Disclosure_Dec2021_508.pdf

➡️You can complete the US Attestation form via your airline app in my case United, as that is my flyer of choice, or, do what I did, submit via airline app and print / complete a hard copy. I carry a copy with me should airline officials wish to see it.

➡️ Airports are getting busier now, many of the airports in the UK are short staffed and under resources. So please get to the Airport as early as possible and in most cases at the earliest time of the recommended time given by your airline.

➡️ Look to see if your airline uses VeriFLY to help manage your travel experience, it will save you hassle in the long run - https://myverifly.com

➡️ Upon arrival, fully vaccinated travellers:
  • DO NOT have to quarantine
  • are recommended to take a viral test within 3 to 5 days of arrival in the US.
Enjoy your visit the USA. Safe travels.

  2. Hi, what's the purpose of the attestation form? When I flew London to Detroit in December 2021 nobody mentioned it or asked for it.
