Go to the newly opened Little Island on the west side of Manhattan close to the highline, close to Chelsea and within walking distance of the West Village this is a man-made island that juts out into the Hudson River. It's actually a really nice place to visit, you get some great vistas of downtown Manhattan as well as across to New Jersey. Spend an afternoon here and watch the sunset over New Jersey.

There's also plenty of things to do, artwork to appreciate, places for you to eat and drink and just spend a couple of hours amongst friends or just reading a book.

Little Island is located in the Hudson River off of the West Side Highway with entrances at West 13th and 14th Streets.
