Are you travelling to the USA soon? Here are answers to some of your frequently asked questions.

Are you travelling to the USA soon? Here are the answers to frequently asked questions that I have been asked this week.

Do I need to show a negative Covid test to enter the USA?

Yes. All air passengers 2 years or older with a flight departing to the US  will need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test result, as well as vaccination status. You must take the test no more than 1 day before your flight to the U.S. so, for example if your flight was 4pm on a Friday, you could take your COVID test any time after midnight on the Thursday, the day before.

What about Children?

All children aged 2 or over need to show a negative COVID 19 test, see video supervised test below. However they will not need to take a test if travelling on a exception, such as recovered from COVID within the last 90 days.

Do you have a link to the latest US Attestation Form?

Verifly which is used by airlines, British Airways, American Airlines and Aer Lingus: https://myverifly.com

Attestation Form for travelling Virgin Atlantic: https://www.virginatlantic.com/content/vaa/www/us/en/attestation-form.html

Do you have a checklist to ensure I am complying with all the US entry travel requirements?

Does the COVID test need to be supervised?

Yes, a video supervised COVID test is needed, I personally use Qured, they are reliable and I have always received my COVID negative certificate within 10 - 20 minutes after the test. Use BATRAVEL20 for a 20% discount.

Where can I obtain a COVID Recovery Certificate?

Do I still need to take a COVID Test when returning to the UK?

No you do not.

Do I need to complete a UK passenger locator form upon return?

No you do not need to complete. That form was scrapped in March.

When will the US drop end the 1 day pre departure COVID test for international travellers to the USA?

The answer is nobody knows, press and travel trade press have been saying it could be mid-May, this is based on rumours and, to be fair, I have not read anything concrete but as soon as I know or have a clear indication I will post on the blog.
