How much time do I need left on my passport when visiting the USA?

There is always a belief that you need an additional 6 months on your passport when you travel to the US. Truth be known your passport should be valid for your proposed stay in the USA. You do not need any additional period of validity beyond this. So if you have 3 months left on your passport and you're travelling to the USA for a long weekend then you will be fine.
