When is the best time of the year to visit New York City

A question I get asked a lot is when is the best time to visit New York City. It's a very good question, in my personal opinion the best time to visit is either in October or in May and there are a couple of reasons as to why. Summer months are both very humid in terms of the weather and busy in terms of tourists, however at the beginning or at the tail end of the summer the temperatures begin to become more comfortable. Also there are less tourists, I very much recommend October, purely because the city is gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas, let's not forget also Halloween. And also a stroll through Central Park in October is always a beautiful experience, especially with the change in colour of the leaves.

Another great time to visit New York, I personally think, is the first week of January. A lot of residents, shops and businesses will still have their Christmas decorations up. A lot of the tourists will have left the city. You may even be lucky and still get to see the Christmas Tree in the Rockefeller Centre, which is always a treat. So that's another great week in my opinion to visit New York, and I always pay a visit to this great city in the first week of January. You can also get some really good deals on airfares because the price will have reduced, because it's the end of the Christmas period, so I've always managed to get a good deal on and I've had to New York for the first week of January. It's always worth taking a look now in advance, we are a couple of months naturally away from January, so just take a very quick look at that first or second week of January to secure the best prices to visit New York City.

Anyway I hope that the above has helped you in preparing for a trip to, which is my favourite city in the US. Happy US travels everyone.
