Hi Sam, Just read your blog on US mobile contracts. I've just moved from EE to O2 and the travel aspect was a big thing for me. This is my take:
EE meant paying £10 a month extra for a bolt-on which allowed you to use your data and minutes in US. Not bad value.
O2 if you have a Virgin Media broadband contract you can get a "Volt" package which includes using your UK data and minutes in US included for no extra.
I also was on Three, which for travel was great but I ultimately decided to move away as the UK coverage was poor and I couldn't get a signal at home.
