If you’re travelling to the US soon make sure your ESTA is still valid. Don’t fall for bogus websites to apply for your ESTA. Use the official US Customs and Border Protection ESTA application website.

Flying to New York City next week, and given the amount of times that I do fly to New York, I always doublecheck the expiration date on my ESTA. To be fair, I am probably being over cautious, and there is nothing wrong with that, however, to my regular readers who may not have travelled to the US in sometime, especially given that the world is reopened, and we are allowed to travel again. Just check the expiration date of your ESTA. I've had a couple of readers in the last six months have turned up at the airport and discovered that their ESTA has expired.

Just remember if you are going to apply for your ESTA, so so a couple of weeks in advance of your travel. Chances are you won't experience any issues, but there may well be a delay in processing your ESTA application and it may not be approved straight away, so give yourself time.

Also don't fall for bogus websites that promise to process your ESTA, they'll charge you more money and you can do everything yourself through the official ESTA website: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/

Wherever your travels take you, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable journey.

Happy US travels.
