Visiting New York City this Summer? MTA Proposes Fare Hike for NYC Subway and Bus Commuters


If you're travelling to NYC this Summer The New York MTA, Metropolitan Transportation Authority is considering a 5% fare increase for New York City subway rides, as reported by Timeout New York. 

According to the proposal by the MTA, there will be an increase in base subway and bus fares. The new fare will be $2.90, which represents a 5% hike from the current price of $2.75 per ride. Additionally, the cost of a seven-day MetroCard will see a smaller increase of 3%, going up by one dollar to $34 instead of the current price of $33. Remember these are proposals and not certain yet but worth bearing in mind when if you travel to NYC this Summer.
