1 week until I fly to New York City and it would be absolutely wonderful if by some miracle the US decides to end the pre-departure COVID testing for international visitors

1 week until I fly to New York City and it would be absolutely wonderful if by some miracle the US decides to end the pre-departure COVID testing for international visitors. Now it's unlikely to happen and I haven't heard or read anything to say this will happen in the near future. But I have my Qured test kit ready and I'm beginning to isolate myself away from people, well as much as I can do so to minimise any chance of catching COVID. But I can only be safe to a degree, needless to say I'm fully vaccinated and I'm happy to wear my mask on the plane.

I also have to be grateful because I think we are in a far better position that in a year ago when we still had the US travel ban in place. US travel was very much off limits and if I recall there were rumours President Biden was looking at lifting the ban in May, there was much excitement, unfortunately that did not materialise and we were all left bitterly disappointed. But do you know what? We got through the difficult period and even though it wasn't until November when the US travel ban was lifted we navigated the difficult period and we got through it. So even though there are still limitations and strict US travel requirements I am thankful that I will be able to board the flight to Newark Liberty at the end of next week and visit the wonderful USA - providing I remain COVID negative, wish me luck.
