If you recently tested positive for a COVID then you will need 'documentation of recovery' [your positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before the flight's departure from a foreign country and a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel]

So how do you travel to the USA if you recently recovered from COVID?
Some people who tested recently for COVID may recover sufficiently to begin to test negative in advance of travelling and if this is the case then you may not need a COVID Recovery Certificate. You would then just do the usual 1 day pre-departure test. I would, if you have any spare, just do some LFT tests in the run up the 1 day pre-departure COVID test and then you should know how you will test on the day. Read my guidance on 1 day pre-departure COVID testing here: https://usuktravel.blogspot.com/2022/02/q-when-do-i-need-to-take-my-covid-test.html?m=1
If this is not viable and you recently recovered from COVID then the following is likely to be the best option:
Firstly ask your Doctor for a Covid Recovery Certificate. If that doesn't work then I recommend using MedicSpot and I know a lot of our readers have used. There is a quick 5-minute online form to complete, no appointment necessary. You receive your COVID Recovery Certificate in less than 2 hours. The fee is £59 but it's great peace of mind. MedicSpot will need a test certificate or NHS notification with your name and date of birth. The date of your positive Covid-19 Test PDF, screenshot or photo of your positive test result is accepted They cannot accept pictures of a positive test result.
Remember once you have the certificate you won't need to take a pre-departure COVID test 1 day before departure to the USA.
You will still need to complete the US Attestation Form: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/Combined-Passenger-Attestation-Amended-Testing-Order-12-02-2021-p.pdf
