I'm reading speculation that the pre departure COVID requirement for travel to the US could end mid-May. Nothing has been confirmed, nothing official has been announced, just chat in the media and from travel associations and I certainly am not getting my hopes up, but personally the sooner this is lifted the better and yes for everyone. I appreciate that not everyone is going to be able to get vaccinated. Personally I am vaccinated and I've had my boosters but I do appreciate that for medical reasons not everyone is in the same situation. Nevertheless the anxiety thr pre-departure COVID tests create can really spoil the pre holiday mood. Not being able to know for certain until the day before you travel does not help, plus think of the cost especially if you have a family who are travelling.
So needless to say I do not know and I have not heard a concrete date but the sooner the requirement to end the pre-travel COVID test for international visitors to the US then the better and I cannot wait to publish the end date on the blog.
